Buying
How do I place an order?
Placing an order on Qessaria takes under a minute, with or without an account:
1. Open the product you want and check the price, condition and shop.
2. Pick the size and quantity if the seller offers more than one size.
3. Click 'Buy now' to go straight to checkout, or 'Add to cart' to bundle several items.
4. Enter your name, phone and delivery address.
5. Choose cash on delivery (COD), then confirm.
Example: for a pair of jeans listed at 250 MAD, you pay 250 MAD + 30 MAD delivery, so 280 MAD handed to the courier in cash on arrival. The seller usually calls to confirm before shipping. You then get a notification at every step: order confirmed, shipped, then delivered.
Do I need an account to buy?
No, an account is not required to buy on Qessaria. You can check out as a guest by simply providing your name, phone, email and delivery address. The seller then calls you to confirm the order before shipping.
Creating a free account is still useful and takes a few seconds. With an account you can:
• keep the history and status of all your orders in one place;
• follow your favourite shops and get alerted to their new products;
• open a claim and track it if a parcel has a problem;
• earn buyer reputation points on every delivered order, which unlocks extra negotiation attempts.
Whether you're a guest or registered, cash on delivery works the same way: you only pay when the parcel reaches you.
Can I follow a shop?
Yes. On every shop page, the 'Follow' button subscribes you to its updates. You'll get a notification when the shop posts a new product, offers free delivery, or runs a promo. You can manage your follows from your account.
What if my order is damaged, wrong, or never arrives?
If a parcel never arrives, arrives damaged, or doesn't match the listing, open a claim from your order page. The process is structured at every step:
1. Pick the reason: parcel lost, false delivery, damaged item, wrong item, not as described, or change of mind.
2. For a damaged item, a wrong item, or a not-as-described product, attach photos — they're required for these reasons and speed up the review.
3. The seller has a window to respond: offer a refund, a replacement, or contest the claim.
4. If there's no reply in time, or you disagree, our team reviews the case.
The outcome is one of: refund, replacement, or a motivated denial. Only one claim can be open per order. Example: you receive a size M instead of the L you ordered — you open a 'wrong item' claim with a photo, and the seller arranges the exchange.
Payment and delivery
How does delivery work?
Each shop runs its own shipping anywhere in Morocco — there's no central warehouse. Shipping is 30 MAD per shop ordered: if you buy from two different shops in the same cart, you pay 30 MAD for each, because each parcel ships separately.
Every seller's median shipping time is shown directly on their shop page, so you know what to expect before you buy. Once your order is confirmed, you follow its progress through notifications: confirmed, shipped, then delivered. When the seller marks the order as shipped, they enter the carrier and the tracking number where one is available.
Delivery goes to the address you enter at checkout, and you pay the amount in cash to the courier if you chose cash on delivery.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Qessaria accepts cash on delivery (COD), anywhere in Morocco. It's currently the most used and most reassuring method: you only pay when the courier hands you the parcel, after you've checked it matches your order.
In practice, you pay the courier the product price plus 30 MAD delivery per shop. Example: for an item at 200 MAD, you hand over 230 MAD in cash on arrival.
Card payment through the CMI gateway is being integrated. Until it's live, a 'Coming soon' badge appears on the payment page; once it opens, you'll be able to pay by card securely online. Qessaria never stores any card data.
Negotiation
How does price negotiation work?
On every product that allows it, you can make an offer. Three modes exist:
• Fixed price: no negotiation.
• Manual negotiation: the seller receives your offer and replies (accept, reject, counter).
• Auto-negotiable: instant reply. If your price is too low, the system proposes a counter on the seller's behalf automatically.
A negotiation can run up to 4 rounds before closing, and each counter expires after 48 hours.
What is the attempt pool?
In auto-negotiable mode, every offer below the seller's floor price uses one attempt from your personal pool. The pool starts at 2 and resets every 7 days. You earn +2 attempts every time you reach a new buyer tier (Beginner, Reliable, Expert), capped at 6. When the pool hits zero, you can still accept or reject the seller's latest counter on your open offers.
Selling
How do I open my shop on Qessaria?
Opening a shop on Qessaria is free and takes a few steps:
1. Create an account, then open 'Become a seller' in the user menu.
2. Verify your identity by submitting a photo of the front and back of an official ID (national ID card, passport or licence). This step is mandatory before any publishing and protects buyers against fraud.
3. Once your identity is approved (reviewed within 24 business hours), choose your shop name, its category and your city.
4. Publish your products: add photos, a title, a price and a description. You can scan a barcode or import your Instagram posts to go faster.
Each product goes through a quick moderation step before it appears in the souk. You keep 100% of the sale price — Qessaria charges no hidden commission and only earns from optional services you choose to enable.
Why do I need to verify my identity?
Identity verification is mandatory to open a shop and publish products. It protects buyers, limits fraud, and guarantees that every seller in the souk is a real, identifiable person.
The process is simple:
1. You submit a photo of the front and a photo of the back of an official ID (national ID card, passport or driving licence).
2. In some cases you may be asked to film a short video showing a 4-digit code generated on screen, to confirm you're the person on the document.
3. Our team reviews your request within 24 business hours.
Your documents are encrypted and stored privately: they're never shown publicly or to other users. Until your identity is approved, you can prepare your shop but not yet publish.
Can I scan a barcode to fill out a product listing?
Yes. On the product creation page, scan the barcode with the camera or paste it in, then click 'Look up'. We query several public databases (Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, Open Products Facts, Google Books) and pre-fill title, brand, description, ingredients and photos when available. You can then adjust the fields before publishing.
Are there commissions on my sales?
No hidden commissions. You keep 100% of the sale price. Qessaria only charges for optional services you opt into.
How do I import my products from Instagram?
Go to 'Seller dashboard → Import'. Two options: direct connection to your pro/creator Instagram account, or upload of a ZIP archive exported from Instagram (Settings → Accounts Center → Download your information, JSON format). Then pick which posts to turn into product listings.
Can I deactivate or delete my shop?
Yes, anytime from your shop settings. A deactivated shop is hidden from the souk but stays visible to you. You can reactivate within 6 months; after that, permanent deletion becomes possible (provided there's no open order history).
Account and security
What is the buyer reputation?
For every order delivered and paid, you earn 1 reputation point visible to sellers. You progress through 4 tiers:
• New (0 orders)
• Beginner buyer (1 to 2)
• Reliable buyer (3 to 9)
• Expert buyer (10 and above)
Each time you reach a new tier, you earn 2 extra negotiation attempts (capped at 6). Sellers see your badge on every offer and order — a higher score builds trust and makes negotiations easier. A refund on an order removes its point. You can see your score on your account page.
Are my bank details safe?
Yes. Your bank account is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being stored in the database. A potential database leak would expose nothing without the encryption key.
How do I control the emails I receive?
Go to 'My account → Settings'. You can choose which types of email to receive: orders, offers, identity, updates from shops you follow, and admin messages. In-app bell notifications stay active regardless of your email choices.
How do I report a problem with a product or seller?
Every product page and shop page has a 'Report' button. Reports are reviewed quickly and offending content may be removed or the shop suspended.
Support
How fast does support reply?
On WhatsApp, usually under 2 hours during business hours. By email, within 24 business hours. For urgent order issues, WhatsApp is fastest.
